The Director’s Chair
Taking something that is ordinary and making it look extraordinary is a lot of fun!
My wife’s parents brought up two older director’s chairs a few years ago and we loved how they sat and the nice height, they just lacked visual appeal (not to mention a bit worn and stained).
We knew we wanted to paint the frame and explored options for the canvas since in some ways the canvas was in worse shape than the frame. After doing a little research we discovered that painting the canvas would be easy and fun.
Check out our short video to see the full process!
We removed the simple hinges on each side of the chair to separate the canvas from the frame.
After sanding the chairs and cleaning them, the transformation began with painting the frame and canvas.
Two coats of mixed canvas paint covered up all the stains!
